Makeup Routine

I was never really into makeup until college. Luckily I had my mother who introduced me to Sephora, forced me into buying lip stains, and gave me eye shadow palettes for Christmas. I usually buy the same products over and over again once I find something I like. For my everyday makeup I tend to stick with very simple eye makeup and a natural lip color unless I'm feeling sassy.

I decided to blog my makeup routine and if you have any questions please feel free to email me!

1. Primer: LinkLink
Before applying my YSL foundation I apply Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, it is lightweight and helps with reducing redness. Makeup Forever has a primer that provides a protective layer on the skin allowing their foundation to glide on easily and last longer.

1. Foundation: LinkLinkLink
On most days I just use Kate Somerville CC Cream. I'm obsessed with the texture of primers, so adding a tint in it is great for daytime. If I'm looking for more cover I use YSL Illuminating Foundation or Makeup Forever HD Foundation. They are my favorites right now. I tend to use Makeup Forever more for when I'm being photographer for the blog though. It covers all the imperfections but still manages to look light! I blend both in with a flat top brushes after applying primer.

3. Conceal: Link

This Makeup Forever highlight is really light and just melts in your skin. I just make an upside down triangle under my eye and then blend with a damp beauty blender.

4. Brows: Link

Anastasia is the queen of brows and I've been using dip brow religiously since summer. I suggest choosing a shade that is similar to your hair color. Also get the brush, otherwise this is just a mess in  a jar.

5. Contour: Link
Contouring is my favorite. It gives your face depth. I'm currently using NARS Bronzing Powder, but if you want more shade options, the Anastasia kit is amazing! The easiest way to contour is just to make a a "3" shape on your face and then also go down the side of your nose.

6. Blush: Link
I love NARS blush though I don't have all 27 shades. I use my Sephora blush brush, and Super Orgasm is my favorite shade. I love their blushes because they give your face a natural blush undertone.

7. Mascara: Link
I typically use whatever mascara I have lying around, but if you really want length and volume, this mascara is amazing. I can only really use one coat or I start to look a little too Dolly Parton.

10. Shadow: Link
I am a huge fan of the NAKED palettes, the NAKED palette being my all-time favorite though. I don't care what color hair you have or the undertones in your skin, this set of shadows fits all! Don't forget to primer! My favorite is Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin.

11. Lip Stain: Link
I typically always grab something in a pink-nude shade. This one has a really nice texture and is extremely affordable! This just blends into your natural lip color and you are left with a light pink stain the rest of the day. The shade is Out of this World.
