Let me introduce you to the place where I was born and raised.
The perfect combination of down-home charm and urban chic, Omaha is so much more than flyover country. Omaha has been called a hidden gem and has built an impressive resume of surprising people.
As host of both the 2008 and 2012 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials as well as home to the College World Series since 1950. With a wealth of local breweries and establishments offering a wide array of craft beers, Omaha is a beer-lover's paradise. With one of the best and most diverse music scenes in the country, it's no wonder Omaha's music scene is cooler than yours.
You can thank Omaha for the TV dinners and I know you've heard of the Reuben. Yep, the famous sandwich was invented right here at the Blackstone Hotel. Everyone's heard of Omaha Steaks, and Omaha is the answer to "Where's the beef?" As you may already know Husker football is a state religion.
Omaha is also known for an array of prominent people who hail from the River City such as director Alexander Payne, actress and model Gabrielle Union, the triple threat Fred Astaire, the "Oracle of Omaha" Warren Buffet, civil rights leader Malcolm X and so many more.
It's about finding a destination that's fresh and creating new experiences for visitors. Omaha is full of great spaces, some of which immediately spring to mind. But it's also home to multitudes of hidden gems, public spaces that may be out of your immediate view or off the beaten path, waiting to be discovered.

Therefore as a Nebraska native, I have decided to do a series entitled "Hidden Gems of Omaha." I will highlight one of my favorite local hot spots each month, giving you an inside into The Good Life. Don't worry, I won't forget the fashion aspect because everyday is a fashion show.
