Sequin & Things

The dress section of my closet gets a little neglected – about 99% of the time. For the most part, I only wear a dress when there’s a special event or it’s a holiday and even then I get sick of my options pretty quick. When an event is that special to you, you want something fresh, new and never before seen. It sounds high maintenance, but you know it’s true. Of course this leads to an endless cycle of never wanting to buy a new dress yet always needing to. However, it is amazing how adding a layer or accessory can change the entire vibe of a dress.

With New Year’s around the corner, it gives you the perfect reason to buy a new dress. When I think of New Year’s I think Hollywood glamour with a dash of sequins – or an entire bottle. Whatever you like. Sequins are so versatile – pair a sequin dress or skirt with a leather jacket and it takes it all the way down to drinks with the girls or a first date.

I’m Anna, a twenty-something girl who happens to be captivated by the world of fashion. As a PR enthusiast, blogs are ever present in my life, so I decided why not start one of my own? I plan to use this as a way to archive my own personal style and share what's going on in my life as I navigate through my early twenties.

Born and bred in Nebraska, where Nebraska Cornhuskers football is basically a state religion. I’m a recent DePaul University graduate, and I spend my time collecting shoes, experimenting in the kitchen, and frequenting the gym. I believe in pink lipstick, dessert first and always being overdressed. One of my favorite things to do is work – you could consider me a workaholic. I’m extremely stubborn, but once I find something I am passionate about the rest is history. I currently work in retail, while I am continuously on the hunt for my first “real-world” job.
